  • Mr D Atkinson, Head of School

    As head of the school Mr Atkinson’s primary responsibility lies in ensuring student achievement across all stages and year levels. Collaborating closely with our teachers and support staff, evaluating progress and attainment, implementing supportive strategies for all students and establishing the necessary framework for students to reach their academic goals during their time with the school.

    Mr Atkinson says:

  • Mr N Watkins, Deputy Headteacher - Standards & Outcomes

    As Deputy Headteacher leading on standards and outcomes, I am dedicated to ensuring every student is challenged and supported to achieve their very best. Over recent years, I have helped the school secure record-breaking outcomes for students, built on a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.

    I champion high-quality teaching and learning, making effective use of assessment to guide practice and ensure the right support is in place for every learner.

    By working in partnership with staff, students and families, I strive to keep achievement and growth at the heart of our work, giving every young person the opportunity to succeed in school and beyond.

    As the guardian of behaviour and standards at The Brooksbank School, Mrs Clarke’s role is pivotal in nurturing a conducive learning environment.

  • Mr D Ball, Assistant Headteacher - Personal Development

    As Assistant Headteacher, Mr Ball collaborates closely with the inclusion team to ensure students reach their fullest potential within a nurturing environment. With a primary focus that lies in overseeing personal development, guiding students to build resilience and character to navigate challenges effectively, fostering a community of happy, confident, and successful individuals.

  • Ms J Nutter, Assistant Headteacher - Sixth Form & Curriculum

    As a member of the Quality of Education team, Ms Nutter’s role encompasses various responsibilities aimed at enhancing teaching and learning within the school. Working closely with colleagues, she focus on optimising the school timetable, refining curriculum areas, and facilitating staff development opportunities.

    Ms Nutter says:

    “Empowering teachers to shape an engaging curriculum, optimising timetables and cultivating a culture of continuous learning is the foundation of educational excellence.”

  • Mrs L Farley, Assistant Headteacher - Teaching and Learning & CPD

    Within the Quality of Education team, Mrs Farley’s role is dedicated to facilitating the growth and development of both educators and students alike. With a focus on supporting teachers in their daily practice, Mrs Farley oversees the coordination of initial teacher trainees and manage the early careers framework at Brooksbank. Additionally, she play a pivotal role in shaping an effective curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of our student body.

  • Mrs Bassinder, Associate Assistant Head - Strategic Lead for Year 11

    Mrs Bassinder is the strategic lead for Year 11, supporting students through this important stage of their journey and helping them to achieve their very best. As admissions lead, she ensures families feel welcomed and supported from the very beginning, and through her management of alternative provisions, she works hard to find the right pathways so every student has the chance to thrive in an environment that suits their needs.
